5 Quick Tips for a Successful Holiday Season

  The holiday season is here! As much joy as this season can bring, we all know how stressful it can also be – especially if you have little children. The hustle and bustle, the running around and getting things ready, traveling, seeing extended family… so many things to factor in to the already busy life of families with kids. Let me share with you 5 quick tips for a successful holiday season. 1. When traveling, planning ahead is a must. Whether your are flying or have a long or short drive, planning is a must-have when you have kids. Make sure to ALWAYS factor in extra time. If you are flying, give yourself a little extra time to get to the airport, check-in, pass security, and reach your gate. Young children have unexpected events all the time that may slow you down (diaper change, feeding, crying, throwing up, etc.). If you are driving, plan on more frequent stops for a quick break, diaper change, or feeding, etc. Also, bring with you your child’s favorite toys and distractions and keep them close to use when needed. Make sure you bring baby gear that you are familiar with and easy for you to use. Or, if you are trying out that new travel stroller, practice using it a few days in advance. You don’t want to be stressing out at the boarding gate while you figure out how to fold it! Finally, always count on the unexpected and pack extras.
